In gratitude to
Afam Muslim & the Charity Team
Waqt Al-Salah is published with heartfelt thanks to Afam Muslim and the charitable teaching team behind the project. Their continuing service to the Ummah, freely shared knowledge of solar astronomy and Islamic timekeeping, and tireless community outreach made this software possible. May Allah accept their efforts and reward them abundantly.

The name "Waqt Al-Salah", together with the logo, the astronomical calculation engine, the user interface, the chosen scholarly defaults, and all original text, code, layout, and graphic assets shown by this service, are the intellectual property of the copyright owner named above and protected under international copyright law.

Without prejudice to other rights, the work is protected under the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1886, as amended), the WIPO Copyright Treaty (1996), the Universal Copyright Convention, and any successor or implementing national legislation in your jurisdiction.

2. License of Use

Subject to your acceptance of these Terms, the copyright owner grants you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Waqt Al-Salah for private religious, educational, and devotional purposes.

2.1 Permitted

2.2 Not Permitted Without Prior Written Consent

3. Religious Disclaimer

Prayer times are computed using established astronomical formulas (solar transit, Sun altitude at user-configured twilight angles, shadow-length method for Asr, and tabular Hijri date conversion). These calculations are mathematical approximations of observable celestial phenomena and are subject to the limits of the underlying ephemeris, refraction model, and the geographic data you provide.

The service is offered as an aid to worship and is not a substitute for the religious authority of your local scholars, mosque committee, or competent Islamic council. For sighting-based questions (Hilal, Ramadan, Eid), please follow the ruling of the recognized authority in your community.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

Waqt Al-Salah is designed for minimal data collection. The following information is processed:

For users in the European Union and the European Economic Area, processing falls under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679). The legal basis is consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for optional location services and legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for providing the requested prayer time calculation. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection at any time via the contact email below.
For users in California, your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are honored on the same basis. We do not sell personal information.

5. No Warranty

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Times may differ from other calculators due to differences in atmospheric refraction models, convention for the al-Awwal vs al-Thani limits, choice of horizon mode, or Hijri sighting versus tabular conversion. You are responsible for confirming critical times with a trusted local source.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Afam Muslim, the contributors, or any party associated with the project be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the service.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such cases, the limitations above apply to the greatest extent permitted by law.

7. Charitable Use and Donations

Afam Muslim operates a charitable teaching outreach. Donations support the ongoing development of Waqt Al-Salah, the production of educational materials on Islamic astronomy, and the broader charitable activities of the team. Donations are voluntary, are received outside the technical scope of this software, and are governed by the Afam Muslim charity's own procedures.
